some updates on our supernova future

We have some very exciting news: WOBC 91.5 FM’s BLOG has been acquired by Condé Nast!!!! Condé Nast, the media company that owns Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, GQ, Pitchfork and Wired, among many other brands that used to be financially solvent, and we’re stoked to join their conglomerate.

This is an extraordinary moment for us. In October, BLOG will celebrate its 1st birthday. We launched in 2023, when online magazines barely existed, and the internet’s potential as a publishing platform was just becoming clear. Gradually, our readership increased, and so did the scope of our coverage. We opened additional sections, providing a home for both emerging and seasoned voices. We started a music festival in Berlin, and another in Big Sag, Montana. We introduced video programming to the site in 2024, and then took it down because it was too much work. Each of these endeavors are now integral components of BLOG, and with Condé Nast’s experience and resources, all of them will have greater opportunities to grow and flourish, in a mossy, but not moldy, way.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have found in Condé Nast a group of people who share every aspect of our focus, intensity, and whimsical approach to deadlines. Their 100+ years of experience in building brands marked by “integrity” makes them a natural fit for BLOG, and their belief in what we do, combined with their additional expertise, will allow us to extend our coverage across all platforms while remaining true to the ideals that have made us the most trusted voice in music among liberal arts colleges in Northeast Ohio with student bodies between 2,800-3,400 founded between 1828 and 1834.
